CMI Student Stories: Maisie Franklin | CMI Level 5 Review

Looking to develop in her career, Maisie decided to enrol on a CMI Level 5 Diploma qualification with us to get ahead. Find out more about her story below!

My name is Maisie and I work at a search specialist digital marketing agency in Brighton called Seed. I'm currently taking the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management - with just over a year to go to complete! 

In August 2020, I finished the CIM Level 6 Digital Marketing Diploma and was on the hunt for the next course to do. I had taken on more of a senior role at Seed and was interested to see how I could progress and learn quicker, alongside on-the-job learning.

When searching multiple different websites, ICS Learn attracted me as I felt it had great course content and a really user-friendly portal. 

I had a couple of reservations before committing to online learning, as I think it relies more heavily on my own motivation and good tutors. Luckily these both go hand in hand and my tutor provides really good feedback and guidance which helps motivation to no end! 

I'm loving the course that I am doing. I can learn something on a Monday and by Friday I have implemented and tested it within Seed. It's great to then put it into practice straight away and continue to improve processes and learn.

For my future career, I'm eager to work within a department to continue to improve processes, always ask why and motivate the team around me. There is no better feeling than seeing a colleague that you have helped do great and succeed.  

I would definitely recommend the CMI Level 5 Leadership & Management course to anyone who is thinking about it.

At first, I had imposter syndrome thinking that maybe I needed to know more before I started the course, but that wasn’t the case! I have learnt so much already and looking forward to finishing the course and becoming qualified.
