PRINCE2 Student Stories: Ross Minshull | PRINCE2 Combined

Project Manager, Ross, completed the PRINCE2 Combined course to further enhance both his knowledge and how he deals with real life work scenarios.

I currently work in the Finance industry and have been with my current employer for over 10 years. As a Project Manager for a debt management company, I chose to study the PRINCE2 Combined (Foundation and Practitioner) course to enable continuous improvement within my role.

The course allowed me to bridge the gap between my university degree in Business Management and my current role as a PM. It also allowed me to put my learning into practice in my day-to-day role whilst enhancing my CV at the same time.   

I chose to study with ICS Learn as it allowed me the flexibility required to work at my own pace, all whilst being able to juggle work and make time for any other daily activities.

Initially I had reservations of studying online as there are usually limited resources available and help is hard to come by if required.

I was pleasantly surprised that the learning resources on the course were both written and visual and I could switch between the two depending on the content of the module.

I found that the videos could be difficult at times to follow, however, there were other resources available to counteract this and suit all learning styles.

I received great support from my tutor, and they were also always on hand to answer queries quickly.

Being able to apply the principles of the qualification will enable me to continue to grow in my current role, as I'm now armed with the knowledge of not only theory but also the understanding of how use this in real life scenarios and work situations.

I can already see my thinking and working practices change based on the qualification which in turn provides me with more confidence to complete my role.
