PRINCE2® FoundationProject Management

There are no formal entry requirements for the PRINCE2 Foundation course, making it accessible to anyone interested in project management.

If you already hold a project management qualification, you might be able to skip this level and go straight to the advanced PRINCE2 Practitioner course.

If English is your second language, we recommend you have an IELTS 6.5/ESOL Level 2 or equivalent, but we're happy to review your case on an individual basis.

The online PRINCE2® Foundation course is delivered through engaging, bite-sized lessons and activities, designed to help you learn the theory behind the PRINCE2® methodology. 

You'll cover the core components of PRINCE2®, including:

• Principles: Learn the seven key principles that guide all PRINCE2® projects, including business justification, defined roles, and managing by stages.
• Practices: Explore essential project practices such as risk management, planning, quality control, issue handling, and progress tracking.
• Processes: Follow the full project lifecycle, from starting up and initiating, to controlling stages and closing the project effectively.

This course is structured to break down complex projects into manageable stages, ensuring effective product delivery throughout the project lifecycle. When the course is completed, students gain a sense of achievement and are well-prepared for further progression.

For the PRINCE2® Foundation exam, you'll be assessed through a secure 60-minute online proctored exam.

You'll answer 60 questions and need to achieve the 60% pass mark to gain your PRINCE2® Foundation certification.

Your exam fees are included in the cost of your course.

The PRINCE2® Practitioner is designed for those who’ve completed the Foundation and want to take their expertise further, teaching you how to apply PRINCE2® in real-world projects and step into more senior roles.

The PRINCE2® Foundation & Practitioner Combined is a great option if you want to gain both certifications in one go. You’ll build a strong foundation and then progress directly to the Practitioner level – ideal for fast-tracking your career in project management.

Your PRINCE2® certification is valid for 3 years from the date you pass your exam.

To maintain your certified status and keep your skills up to date, you’ll need to renew your qualification before it expires. You can do this in one of the following ways:

• Retake the exam: Simply retake the same PRINCE2® exam before your certification expiry date.
• Progress within the PRINCE2® suite: Take a further course and pass another exam in the same certification family (e.g. moving from Foundation to Practitioner).
• Log CPD points: Maintain your certification by actively collecting and recording Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points through your PeopleCert Plus membership (which is included in the cost of your course with us!).
