CIPD Student Stories: Nileena Sultana | CIPD Level 5 Diploma

Nileena was looking for flexibility while studying, as someone who works full-time and couldn't attend classes on campus. She's now 75% through her course and looking forward to qualifying.

I’m a Business Manager for a charity working in the Criminal Justice System. My current role dips in and out of HR and people management, however, as I’m not qualified, nor experienced with people management, I am unable to develop within my role and take on additional duties in that field.

I was advised by a HR professional to look at CIPD courses. After researching, I decided to enrol onto Level 5 Diploma in People Management Associate Diploma – I thought this was the best level for me to study as I had some HR and people management experience and already worked in the field.

I spoke to a course advisor to get a better understanding of what the course would involve, and was reassured that this was the right course to further my HR skills and knowledge.

I started looking at different course providers, but many were hybrid learning – having to go into campus for classes whilst also working online. This wouldn’t have worked for me, whilst working full-time and also juggling family, friends and a social life!

I came across ICS Learn who offered fully online courses and started to look into this further. It seemed that this was the best option for me.

It was flexible, course advisors were available almost all the time and your course was 100% online.

All of these components meant that I would have full flexibility over my studies, and could manage my workload around my job and personal life.

I had some reservations around how I would juggle everything and if I would feel over-stretched, but I'm 7 months into my course and it’s going great. My tutor is always on hand to help, offer support and answer my questions.

I’m currently around 75% into my course at the moment and very much look forward to qualifying – something I’ve wanted to do for years.

I would recommend ICS Learn as they are flexible, 100% online and offer full support, which would benefit a lot of working students!
