GCSE Student Stories: Jack Knight | GCSE Maths & English Review

Inspired by the positive experience he had while online learning, Jack continued his studies at home, post pandemic. Find out more about how he got on below.

I just want to take a moment to recognise ICS Learn. When we were forced to be home-schooled during lockdown, I tried to make the best of a bad situation. My Mum took on the role of teaching us via ICS Learn on Monday to Thursday and then my Dad taught me business on his day off on Fridays.

I very quickly became engaged with learning again and also developed a passion for business and started to read lots of businesses biographies and watch business shows on TV such as Dragons Den and the Apprentice.

One Friday we decided to get the experience of starting a business under our belt and came up with the idea of Animate Our Logo which very quickly gained support from local businesses here in Eastbourne before catching the eye of Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis.

We were able to use the skills we were learning and developing from ICS Learn into real practical skills that we used to engage with our clients as well as being used for Marketing and public relations.

The skills in Math have been helpful in ensuring I run a business that is aware of our numbers and focused on profit.

I knew getting a good education in English and Maths was crucial for my future and we were so encouraged by the work and support we had through ICS Learn.

It has been an exciting year, Theo later picked us as an SBS winner which then changed the course of our lives ever since. Our friends finally went back to school after the first lockdown but we decided to continue with home school which was a brave but scary decision.

With the support of ICS learn I have now got the grades I wanted and have already now started working full time on my business. Thank you so much for your support ICS Learn.
