AAT Student Stories: Ashleigh McKenna | AAT Level 2 Certificate

Ashleigh took the plunge and started a brand new career in accounting by studying an online AAT Level 2 Certificate.

Accounting was always something I had wanted to do, so when I was taken on as an entry-level accounts administrator at a local food manufacturer, I was overjoyed.

I quickly realised that I wanted to move further up the ladder at my company, but with no previous accounts experience or qualifications, I knew this may be difficult.

I researched online and found that the AAT Level 2 Certificate course was exactly what I was looking for to get me started on my journey.

I initially had reservations about online learning as I had never experienced this before. I was working full time and needed my studies to fit around this, whilst still being affordable.

I signed up for this course as it was something I didn't see offered through other learning providers, saving me time and money moving swiftly from one qualification to the next.

While working through my initial qualification, management at my company often told me how it was improving my everyday work and I was given more challenging tasks and responsibilities. 

I am now head of Credit Control and Sales Ledger, having moved up the ladder within the company

Not only have I reaped the benefits of this course but so has my employer, I plan to continue working towards promotions, and with ICS Learn I feel this is now within my reach.
