There is no AAT Level 1 accounting qualification.

How long does AAT Level 2 take? 

AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting

• Around 9–12 months 

AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping 

• Around 3–6 months 

How long does AAT Level 3 take?

AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting 

• Around 12–18 months

How long does it take to complete all AAT levels? 

If you start at AAT Level 2 and progress through to Level 4, most students complete the full AAT Accounting qualification in approximately 2.5 to 3.5 years while studying part-time. 

However, if you follow the bookkeeping pathway specifically (AAT Levels 1 to 3), your completion time will be shorter.
