GCSE Student Stories: Palak Nath | International GCSE Science & Biology

Palak decided to study with us online to achieve her dreams of becoming a midwife. Find out more below. 

I currently work as a part-time care assistant and I just recently finished college, from where I achieved A* in Cache Level 3 Health and Social Care Extended Diploma.

I wanted to apply for midwifery, which required an overall 5 GCSEs, including Maths, English, and Science subjects like Human biology. However, I didn't have enough GCSEs and this made me very sad and stressed.

I thought the local college would help, but they denied me as they said it was too late to enrol. However, after doing some research, I found out about ICS Learn, and they have been great for me!

I started studying International GCSE Human Biology and International GCSE Double Award Science, which included Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Whenever I did not understand something I would send a query to my tutor who would answer as soon as they could. Throughout the units, there are little mini-progress checks for every topic, and once you finish a unit, you do a test paper that tests you on the topics covered. Thanks to ICS Learn, I achieved a grade 4 in Human Biology! 

This course fits around my life, especially while I attended college, along with volunteer work, and assisting events at college.

Tutor support has been great, especially when I was meant to have my "exam" with ICS, Learn so that the centre could have a better idea of which grade they could predict me. My tutor answered really quick, and used to mark test papers and any mock exams as soon possible!

Not only this, but she was also very friendly and also called me to apologise regarding how certain events occur and I really appreciate the effort she put in.
