How Much Does a PRINCE2® Qualification Cost?
Last Reviewed: 15 May 2025 - 3 min read
If you’re thinking about advancing your project management career with a PRINCE2® qualification, one of the first things you’ll want to know is: how much does it cost?
From course format and level to provider and support options, the price of PRINCE2 can vary, so it’s important to understand what you’re paying for to get the most out of your investment.
In this guide, we’ll break down the typical costs of PRINCE2® Foundation, Practitioner, and Combined courses, and explain the key factors that affect pricing.
Let's dive in!
What factors affect PRINCE2® course costs?
The cost of your PRINCE2® qualification can vary depending on a few key factors, including:
The course level
The PRINCE2® Foundation qualification tends to be more affordable as it's an entry-level qualification, while Practitioner and Combined courses are higher due to the added content, exams, and their outcome.
For instance, you won't become a PRINCE2® Registered Practitioner unless you gain the Practitioner qualification (which is also included in the Combined course). So, it's important to consider which level makes the most sense for your career goals.
Study format
PRINCE2® courses are offered both online and in face-to-face classroom settings.
Classroom learning offers real-time tutor support and peer interaction but requires travel (and commuting costs), fixed schedules, and time away from other commitments.
Online learning gives you the flexibility to study from home, often at your own pace, with access to online materials and tutor support. It also tends to be more cost-effective than classroom-based options, with many providers (like us!) offering interest-free monthly payment plans to make upskilling more accessible.
The provider
PRINCE2® course prices aren’t fixed, which means that depending on the learning provider you choose, the cost of your PRINCE2 qualification will fluctuate according to their terms, conditions, and pricing model.
Established, accredited course providers may charge more, but they usually offer higher-quality support and recognised PRINCE2 certification. Not all providers include exam fees, tutor support, or study materials in their pricing either, so it's important to do your research!
However, when you study with us, all of the above is included, as well as the following support:
- 24/7 access to online course materials
- A 12-month PeopleCert Plus Membership
- Access to the official PeopleCert mock exams
- 150+ PRINCE2® DevOps eBooks, practice guides, and playbooks
- Access to CPD activities to support Certification Renewal
- Take2 exam resit option
How much does a PRINCE2® qualification cost?
As we've mentioned, the cost of your PRINCE2 qualification will vary on a variety of factors. However, below we give you an idea of the price range you can expect for each course.
PRINCE2® 7th Edition Foundation Course
Typical cost range: £700 to £1,200
The PRINCE2® Foundation qualification is designed for individuals in leadership or project-related roles looking to refine their project management skills.
Whether you’re just starting out or well into your career, this course is an introduction to understanding the fundamentals of the PRINCE2 methodology and can be studied as a prerequisite to the Practitioner course.
PRINCE2® 7th Edition Practitioner Course
Typical cost range: £700 to £1,600
The PRINCE2® Practitioner qualification was created for current or aspiring project managers or team members who want to learn how to apply the PRINCE2 framework to real-world projects.
This qualification is best for individuals who have already completed the PRINCE2 Foundation (2009 or 7th Edition), or hold a PMI, IPMA or equivalent qualification.
PRINCE2® 7th Edition Foundation & Practitioner Combined Course
Typical cost range: £1,200 to £2,100
This course is a great option if you want to save time and money by studying two courses in one go. You'll learn the theory as well as the practical knowledge you need to apply PRINCE2 in real-world scenarios.
Please note: If you choose this option, you must pass the Foundation level before progressing to Practitioner level.
Are there any extra costs to consider?
Being that some providers may charge additional fees, be sure to check for the following when doing your research into PRINCE2 qualification providers:
- Exam fees (not always included)
- Resit or rebooking fees
- Printed materials or textbooks (if these are important to you)
- Admin or certification costs
