CIPD Student Stories: Elisha Bonanate | CIPD Level 3 Certificate

Elisha wanted to gain the skills needed to further her career so she decided to study a CIPD Level 3 Certificate with us.

I am currently working as a project/admin coordinator for an aviation recruitment company. I’m completing a CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice so that I can support them with more HR responsibilities, as they currently don’t have an HR team, and the directors are dealing with all HR jobs with the help from our payroll team with holidays.

We decided that this would be a great course for me, as I have many years of experience in customer service and managerial positions, which gave me the knowledge and skills for the foundations of this job.

I chose to study this course so that I could be more flexible and so I could progress more with the company. We chose ICS Learn, as I had heard good reviews about them through friends who had done HR-related courses.

Before starting the course, I did question whether I would be able to learn and retain knowledge from just looking at a screen and having to be 100% independent.

I would say it hasn’t been as hard as I expected it to be.

So far, I have enjoyed the course and have learnt a lot, which I have put into my everyday work. The course has helped me a lot with understanding the organisation I’m working for and why we do things in a certain way.

With the course, I plan to progress within my company, and I look to do more HR-related courses so that I can take full responsibility for this at my organisation.

I would recommend ICS Learn to anyone who’s used to working and learning independently and is a visual learner, as it's easy to use and navigate and has a fair few resources to choose from. It's also very easy to track your progress and stay on track with your learning.
